rooting Note 3

Hi,

I m a newbie in Android world and I have a Live demo unit of Samsung Note 3.
Now I don't want it to turn it to a phone but I do want to root it because some Retail Mode app is keep bugging me all the time and sucking all the battery, plus some basic options like lock screen etc are disabled becaus of that app.

So is there anyway to getrid of that annoying retail app thru rooting or I m stucked with it forever.

Would appreciate any kind of help in this regard.

have you tried going into applications and just disabling it?

Not sure how you get a retail demo unit to begin with, but maybe its possible to flash the stock OS onto the device depending on the carrier, etc.

It was a gift from a retailer
And because its a LDU there is no baseband in it.

I've disabled the app but somehow its still working somewhere in the memory or something, lockscreen and some other options are still disabled because of that app
And i cant even uninstall some factory installed annoying apps.

If it is in Samsung DCT Retail Mode try the password M729Q16K8546 to deactivate it.

hi i have a note 3 demo and i try to update it to 4.3 but it keep rebooting now the demo is gone but phone does not function properly please if you give me any advise i would appreciate it

i deactivated the option before disabling the app but the options are still locked

Note 3 is bundled with 4.3 why did you update it with 4.3 ??

i think the lack of basedband in demo unit is causing the problem.

What carrier was the demo for? You may need to try the carrier specific firmware also you might want to ask on XDA-Developers.com some developers may be able to offer more insight,.

i don't think its a carrier locked device, i got it thru a retailer
