Rooting problems on my galaxy s5

If you don't have the AT&T or Verizon variant, install TWRP, then use it to install Chainfire's CF-Auto-Root. (See this link.) If you're running Marshmallow, see this link instead.

If you have the AT&T (G900A) or Verizon (G900V) variant, see this link (you'll have to use Towel Root if you're still on KitKat). If you're on Marshmallow, you can search for S5 one touch root - some are reported to work, most don't.
