I just got my Incredible 2 today and I would like to root it. It came running android 2.3.3, is there a way to root it? Are there any downsides to rooting it now?

Sorry but DI2 with Android 2.3.3 is not rootable at this time. All known temp root exploits have been fixed in this release which has rendered AlphaRevX useless at this point in time.

Hope root comes soon. I'd like to install the Video Chat version of Talk since they skimped on the Gingerbread update.

You can try loading "Talk 1.3" from the Market. That might work as it is the version with video chat.

It requires root and busybox unfortunately....
