I'm new to Droid devices as well as the concept of rooting my phone. I think I should be able to improve my phone's performance by over-clocking the processor, as well as allow it to do internet calling - which Sprint does not allow. Shortly after receiving my phone earlier this year, Sprint provided the update up to Droid 2.3.3 (Gingerbread), and so far all the sw versions I've seen here seem designed to update to that version. My phone is only a few months old, but I would love to upgrade to another device. Since my entire family is on our cell plan, dropping out is not an option, so I'm stuck with this POS for at least another year. If I could improve its performance, it would make it more bearable until that time comes. If you guys could coach me a little on this process, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

I meant to make my subject line read: Rooting the LG Optimus S with software version LS670ZVH. Sorry for the confusion.
