Rooting the replenish for dummies?

Hi I've read the sticky for rooting the replenish, but as I'm new to the android scene it isn't making much sense. Is there someone that can help walk me through this? It is a boost mobile model, and I am trying to use it for wifi tethering. Thanks in advance.
