With the release of froyo 2.2 only Days, hours, minutes away, Should we all not be getting our houses in order for the new OS?

I mean with Samsung releasing the code to vendors on Friday, wouldn't you think that's the way to go?

We are on Verizon. I'll be happy if they release 2.2 before Thanksgiving. It will take them awhile to add Bing to it, and slow it down as much as possible.
Custom roms and kernels might come sooner, but you will have plenty of notice to unroot your phone if you want to wait for the OTA update.

yea, the update is starting in Europe and slowing going to make it's way here, with verizon most likely being the last to get it.

I'd say it's a good bet there will be at least one custom 2.2 rom out before a Verizon OTA sends it.
