There is probably a post on this but this is something a little different. Video How to guide that even the newest noob can follow. I have read about this and searched it but no one did it straight though an made a step by step on How to do this. I did, Here is a list of what you need and a video on how to do it. Step by Step, easy How to guide. Anyone can do this.

You will need to to power on the Galaxy Gear, go to settings and enable USB debugging in about device. Now put the Gear on the Dock and plug it into the computer with the Micro usb. Now open a CMD and run ADB. Find the location of you desired app and type "ADB Install "File Location and Name" into the ADB. Need help watch the Video. Hard to explain in text, Its why I made a video walk through. Deleting apps require another app or factory resetting the Device.

NOTE: I AM IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTCOME OF YOU FOLLOWING THESE INSTRUCTIONS! IT WORKED FOR ME, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL WORK FOR YOU!

What you Need:
  • Samsung Galaxy Gear
  • Galaxy Gear Dock
  • Micro USB Cable
  • ADB Installed and Running
  • Samsung Drivers
  • Desired APK Files

  • Video Instructions:

    Applications I Know Working:
  • Subway Surfers
  • Temple Run 2
  • Minecraft Pocket Edition
  • Nova Launcher

NOTE: If this worked leave a comment and let other know, as well as leave what app you used and installed.

Hey thanks! I will try this. By the way, in the video when you opened your app drawer, I think I saw MailDroid. Have you figured out a way to have its notifications show up on the Gear?? That would be awesome!

wondershare mobilego for android is a program that will also allow you to download any app from the app store to your gear. simply install the program, it has a 14 day free trial, and connect your gear to computer via usb cable and you are good to go.

the problem for me is that the apps i want all rely on a data or wifi connection. for instance having my dish tv, or netflix, or pandora would be awesome, and with the program i mentioned i can push them to the watch, but when they open they look for a data connection that is simply not there. so i suppose games might be good, and over on xda calculator programs seemed to be what many were installing from play store, but for me....without being wifi capable it just doesn't make a difference yet what i can download.
