Running Hotter Than Usual?

Yesterday my N4 did something for the first time: It shut itself down because it was overheating. There wasn't an alert to that effect, but in the middle of navigation, it suddenly powered off, and the back was almost too hot to touch.

My N4 often gets hot during other basic tasks, such as surfing. I never noticed that until a few months ago, so I'm wondering if KitKat is more processor-intensive than it predecessor.

Is anyone else's N4 running hot?

I've noticed that on my phone as well. Sometimes when I'm using the flash taking pictures the phone just overheats and restarts. These things did not happen in JB 4.3.
I'm running cyanogen and it still has the same problem of the stock ROM. I hope a update will come out soon. Sorry my bad english
