Running Services Directory or Glossary???

Silly question?

Is there a decent AndroidCentral Sticky that helps define very common Running Services and associated applications?

I have a fully stock Verizon Fascinate with the latest DL09 on it and short of rooting, would like to terminate certain services that are unnecessary for my needs... Even if it's simply for a period of time. Some of the services are obvious but others are purely cryptic.

I know that many won't be controllable until rooted and are part of bloatware but I am looking for whatever control is possible.
