Just a quick question - I'm Rooted via the Dev Unlock and still S-On, and this update today got me thinking about updating my radios. Can I update radios when I'm S-On? Also, is there a quick way to go S-Off at the point I'm at?

Thanks

No you need to be s-off to flash just the radio
The other way is to relock the bootloader ,RUU back stock take the OTA
When the LTE launched we were able to flash the radio with s-on and i guess HTC thought we shouldnt be able to and locked it down., so if your still on 1.12 bootloader from launch day you shoild be able to

So in my S-On and Rooted state there is no way to quickly go S-Off?

Also, thank you for responding to darn near every thread in this section!

So, I just created a backup, ran the RUU, downloaded and installed the update, rerooted and now I'm transferring my backup back to the evo to restore. It took some time, but it was pretty easy.

Any reason someone would lose touchscreen capabilities in TWRP? I tried installing two different releases and I don't have any touchscreen functionality.

So... I might be the only one on this thread anymore, but if anyone is having this issue, TWRP 2.4.0.0 doesn't work but 2.4.1.0 fixes the broken touchscreen. Use that one for the new update if you install it.

Can you link me to where you got the most recent RUU(I must be internet blind today because I can't find it)? If I'm correct you need the newest TWRP to run the most current RUU, then 2.3.3.3 to flash MeanBean again correct???? I'm in the same boat you were with the radios.

I actually got the most recent RUU from the DirtyRacun unlock page. Check there. Otherwise I can post the link to what I used later tonight.

Did you use the RUU 3.15.651.16 - HBOOT 2.09? It's telling me it's corrupt when I try to unzip it. Or did you use RUU 2.13.651.1 - HBOOT 1.19?

I did it in command prompt. The instructions are on the website for DirtyRacun. Don't unzip it. It's like fastboot restart ruu.... I'll grab the link quick.

Edit: I found it. Here is the link Unlimited.IO

I'm on Windows 7, so the instructions I used were at number 8:

RUU your device (with your phone in fastboot):*
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RUU.zip

Hope this helps!

Being that you are running Win 7(I am too) did you just stay S-On or did you take a chance and run DirtyRacun on Win 7? I tried earlier to make an Ubuntu live disc and get s-off but couldn't figure out the terminal functions on that OS.

A RUU in the .exe format you do not extract it you run from your pc. A RUU in a zip format you run it on your phone in the bootloader or use fastboot, either way dont extract it

I am just dev unlocked right now. I think the new DirtyRacun is good for everything - when I rooted, I couldn't find out where it said it could do HBoot 2.09.

I'm taking the dive right now. Well... as soon as I have a current backup.

I'm on HBoot 2.09 and just finished getting s-off about an hour or so ago. Wasn't too terrible. Had 2 hiccups(fastboot usb got stuck off then running the Rabies Shoot I forgot that I had the wrong size SD card mounted in the phone).

Dont forget to flash the 2.09 hboot posted or you wont have the extra fastboot commands
