I have set up 2 SIMs on my new S10 Dual SIM model SM-G973F.I have found out that SIM management software wherein you can set preference for which SIM to use for outgoing calls does not work.

Since I regularly use SIM1 one for all outgoing calls,I have set it up as the preferred SIM for making calls. However with both SIM cards inserted the dialling keypad still shows two call buttons .If you by accident press the second call button, the call will be made from SIM2 even though you have set SIM1 as the preferred SIM .If you want to see only one call icon on the keypad you need to turn off the second SIM which defeats the very purpose of a dual SIM phone.Having spoken with a Samsung technician I understand there is no fix for this problem.I never had this issue with my earlier Moto G5 handset.

"Preferred" doesn't mean "only", it means "default". Without pressing any additional buttons, all calls will be made using the preferred SIM - but you still have the option of using the other one if you want to. A :solution" wold be to install a dialer that doesn't recognize the second SIM, so there's no button.

"Preferred" doesn't mean "only", it means "default".

If both SIM icons appear on the keypad, the "preferred sim" option under SIM management settings makes no sense. When you choose preferred SIM option on Moto G phones, only the chosen SIM appears on the keypad and that is the logic behind having this option.

As for dialer apps I have tried a few but have not found one that addresses this issue.
