S10e - Can't turn off Google Discover

[Android Central Question]

I am trying to get back to a "bare bones" Google screen without the Discover content showing.
All of the instructions that I've found so far start with: "Swipe the Home Screen to the right until you access the Google Discover page".

My home screen does nothing when I try to do a swipe to the right...what am I doing wrong?

After a very long time of searching around in buried menus, I found a setting for "Show Discover" or something worded similar...turned that off but it did NOT clear the content from the Google home screen. I can't even find that setting again!

On Samsung launcher there isn't any Google feed/discover on the left of the home screen. That's only on Pixel launcher or Pixel derived launchers or Nova and 3rd party launcher.

If you are talking about Google app, you can turn off discover in Google app settings as shown below.
