I am currently using a galaxy s8, I love the phone but it's time for an upgrade. I was looking at either Iphone 11 Pro Max 45.00 month, S20+ for 50.00 month or S20 Ultra for 58.00 month.
My uses are #1 watch movies and use as internet. #2 use for taking photos of family, pets, wildlife and nature, scenery and kids in band. Also love taking video's. I've blown up a few good photo's from the s8 to 8 x 10 wall photo that look decent. My main big question for those who are familiar with both iphone and android, is there a huge difference in photo's and video?, especially for photo enlarging? I know there is nothing like amoled for watching movies. Like I said the photo and video quality of the s20, is it something that I would be satisfied with. The only reason I would go with Iphone would be for the photo and video if it's far and beyond better than s20's.

I have both and like both a lot. I think you'd be satisfied by the S20, but the Pro Max camera is just better in every way.

As far as photos it depends on what type of shots you like to take.

I may be bias but S20 Ultra all the way. Has been a buttery smooth experience since I got it in March.

If you currently have the smaller s8, I would recommend the s20+. All 3 phones are larger than the S8 bit the S20+ may be less of a shock in terms of size and pocketability.

Either way you can not go wrong with either. As well if you use Samsung.com and your s8 is paid off you will get a decent trade in value from Samsung.

S20 or S20 Ultra?

While the iPhone has a great camera and certainly beats the S20 Ultra in some regards, and in others it's purely subjective, there are also things they iPhone simply doesn't have the hardware necessary.

Plus. I was talking specifically about the camera, which spanks the S20+. There are other areas where the S20+ is definitely better though. The Ultra has too many issues to be competitive.

Disagree on the Ultra camera issues especially after the updates. The cameras on all these devices have their strengths and weaknesses.

The biggest issue with moving to iPhone is buying all the paid apps again. Plus there is minimal customisation. The camera on the iPhone 11 is decent and video is brilliant apparently. But the S20+ would be a great upgrade and it is 5G compatible. Since you keep your phones for several years you may want to future proof it.

I just got rid of the iPhone 11 pro max to use the ultra as my everyday phone, I also have the s20+ to play around with. The pro max def has a better video camera but like others said the still shots are totally subjective and you can get some amazing shots out of all 3. Since the most recent update to the ultra the camera is great and I've had no issues. Where the ultra trumps the s20+ is when it comes to zoom. The 10x to 30x zoom on the ultra is just flat better than the s20+ while zoom past the 2x on the iPhone is a joke. I chose the ultra as my daily mainly cause of the 120hz display and the battery life.
