S20 to S21 transfer data

I am transferring 63gigs of data to my used S21 ultra and during the transfer it's saying that the new phone storage is almost full with 502gigs. The S21 ultra has a 512gig storage. Where is it getting all this other data to fill up the new phone.
The old phone has 256gigs of storage so something is wrong. II tried resetting the phone and cleaning some data but it still is filling up the storage. It's a bit confusing. Has anyone had any such issues?

That sounds really weird. I know System files take up a lot more space on a 512GB device compared to a 256 and 128 for some reason but I have no idea why it is taking up so much space.

Just checking the S21 ultra is factory reset before the transfer?

Are you using smart switch? @mustang7757 recommends backing up using smart switch via pc and then restoring using the pc backup. Perhaps you could try that?

I do , i like it because you can also make back.ups and restore them later

Yes, I did a factory reset twice and same outcome. Yes I was using smart switch but I will try using the backup and restore from the PC. I will try that. Thanks for the info. I will keep you posted when I do it tomorrow.

Do you have an SD card in the S20? Maybe it's trying to copy that too...
