S21 Slow to refresh screen?

A couple months ago, I noticed that my S21 has a slow refresh. I haven't seen this before on a flagship phone. About 6 months ago, I noticed this same issue on my A53, but I accepted the action due to not being a flagship phone.

When I return to the home screen on the S21, the previous working image reduces in size and then disappears. I was hoping an update would resolve this issue but I haven't seen any improvement. I lightened the load on my S21 and adjusted the RAM settings but no change in performance.

Has anyone seen this issue or found a fix?

Currently on Android 13, UI 5.1, Android security patch level June 1, 2023.

Are you using the stock One UI launcher, or a 3rd party launcher?

Does this also happen in Safe Mode? https://www.samsung.com/us/support/...st, press and hold the,Tap the Safe mode icon.

Thanks for the reply. I am using the stock launcher with the latest GoodLock. Could GoodLock slow down my phone?

I will look into trying safe mode. Very good tip. Thank you.

I don't use Good Lock, but I wouldn't be surprised if certain modules caused issues in certain circumstances. You could try turning Good Lock off or uninstalling it temporarily.

Yeah try turning whichever module your using in Good Lock and restart the phone

I tried to testing in safe mode and I could not reproduce the problem.
I will try removing GoodLock next.

Thanks. I may remove GoodLock entirely to see if that resolves the issue. If that is the cause, then I will reinstall one module at a time. I really like GoodLock.

Agreed. That will be my next step. I didn't see any sluggishness in safe mode, but then it could be any other app. Removing GoodLock is a good start.
