Any one tempted to do this move?

Samsung UK aren't offering a trade in price for the S21 Ultra as far as I can tell unfortunately; so I'd have to sell it via eBay and the likes

It's one of those or hold out for the Pixel 6 Pro (or whatever they're going to call it)

But the Z Fold 3 has that 'uber gadget' feel haha

I went from note 20 ultra to the fold 2 and haven't looked back.

The S-Pen support and IPX8 rating are steps in the right direction, but I'm still going to pass.

Ordinarily I upgrade my phone to a new Note once a year. But this year, Samsung enticed me to upgrade after just 6 months of the N20U. I liked that phone a lot, but the full-res 120Hz and (especially) 10x optical zoom on the S21U convinced me to upgrade early. The Fold 3 has only 2x optical zoom and a 12MP main sensor, which is a multi-year setback that I'm not willing to accept. So I'll resume my usual annual upgrade schedule, and probably get the S22U (or whatever it'll be called) in January.

If the Fold 4 has high-end camera specs next year, I'll consider it.

I am tempted to go from my S21 to the new Z Fold 3. I was interested in the first generation but felt it needed more time to improve things. This might be it!

As I always say, if you are wanting a good camera buy a stand alone camera that is it's intended use. Multi function tools are always sub par to the actual stand-alone tool.

Except that I'm not always going to have a stand-alone camera in my pocket. You're right that there's a trade-off, but for my purposes the quality of the best available phone cameras now vastly outweighs the impracticality of toting a separate camera wherever I may need it.

Yeah I get it. I just need point and shoot camera. I am not into taking pictures that much. My wife has the note 20U and she loves the camera, I'm happy with what the back camera does on the fold 2 as that's the only camera I use on it. I just sometimes think we forget that these are phones first, camera and other options last and put more emphasis on the camera then the phone.

They're not, though, for most of us. Making phone calls is among the least frequent things I do with my phone.
I know, human interaction in communicating by voice is a rare thing. Talking to someone using your voice is a good thing. But we would rather send a text, Snapchat. I for one prefer voice to voice to converse, texting is for quick question and quick answer. Don't want to forget about crapbook, taking selfies look at me look at me posts it's still a phone first, trust me if Samsung released the note 20U with no phone calibilities it would be ripped bad. I think most still use it as a phone more then they think.

This is one of those very true ten years ago but not really so much today things.

If you want a camera that's better than a good smartphone today, you have to drop serious money on something incredibly bulky.

Yes I know, I see it all the time, people don't know how to put their phones down. I watch cars passing me, 95% have the phone in their hands like a pacifier. You don't have to tell me this. Lol

When I ordered my watch4, the trade-in option didn't appear until checkout, have you gone that far through? I didn't think they did it anymore either because it used to be on the customisation page.

The trade in section is now on the page where you look to choose which device you're going to go for etc; before checkout

I'm still enjoying the Ultra and see no reason to upgrade to anything else in 2021, including the Z line up or the Pixel 6. And Apple jumped the shark for me recently.

I did order a Galaxy watch 4. That Z flip 3 is really slick though...

That's awesome about the Galaxy Watch! Let us know how you like it! And hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Enjoy your Ultra! :)

I wish they would have made a watch more rugged like they did with the last one, this looks to much like the active, I don't like the looks of those.

As a slight aside, it's interesting to note that the Z Fold 3 is the only device this year to INCREASE in price over the last model... And for what?

Honestly I do kinda think you'd have to be crazy to buy one... but I did pay £1200 for an S21 ultra, so who am I to judge?
