Hi experts,

My Galaxy S22 will start up but won't proceed past the "Phone is starting..." It appears it cannot get past the UI loading. A message is displayed at the bottom "Serious Software issue detected" - no update available.20241107_204058.jpg

I'm unable to get my data to transfer with smart switch since I cannot access my applications. I tried safe mode, clear cache in the boot menu. I've also removed any recently installed app.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

CC

rvbfan,

Thanks for your response. When I click update I get this screen but nothing happens upon clicking "Download and Install"

mustang,

thank you for taking the time to reply. If I flash the stock firmware for this S22 will my data still remain intact?

Thanks,
CC

mustang,

I'm hopeful you can provide some more information for me.

Can you point me to the correct firmware (HOME) for my T-mobile phone (Samsung S22 5G) Model SM-S901U

The current installed software (Baseband Version) which I think is causing the book problem is: S901USQS6EXJ3
Kernel Version 5.10.198-android12-9-29544585-abS901USQS6EXJ3
Build Number: UP1A.231005.007.S901USQS6EXJ3

When I look up that version it shows US Celluar not Tmoble.

When I boot the phone to download mode here is some other info:
CARRIER: XAU
Current Binary: Samsung Official
FRP Lock: ON

I did move my physical sim to another phone so I can use it while I try to restore this phone's OS so I can access (backup my photos/data).

Thank you,
CC

mustang,

after downloading the firmware to my PC, one of the files is HOME_CSC, CSC_OYN, and another is USERDATA_XAU

Do I still want to select the HOME_CSC to retain my data?

I only ask because the Carrier is listed as XAU on the phone Download screen. I have Tmobile service.

Thanks again!

@mustang7757 here is an update:

I flashed it with the 4 files. It completed and rebooted. It still has the phone is starting message...it is acting exactly as it was prior to the flash.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Dang..i was afraid of that. Can I flash to an older firmware or wait for a new firmware for a chance to recover data?
Samsung won't allow to flash to lower firmware once your on a current one do to security updates that come with it , I'm not sure a newer firmware would help but you can try and see when one is available.

Thanks Mustang for the help. I'll probably hold on to the device and not perform a factory reset for awhile. I'll let you know if I ever have any success
