S22 does not check for software updates automatically

Hi

I've had an S22 from the start and there's never been any notifications that a new version of the software is available (security update/improvements etc).

Once a month I do a manual check and then I'm able to download the update.

I have the auto download over wi-fi option selected.

Presumably it should tell me there's an update waiting?

It should auto download. Do you have a carrier-branded or unlocked device?

Maybe it does but you just don't give it enough time to allow it to check on it's own and download and let you know it has an update ready for you. It's not like the moment your carrier releases the update that your phone will immediately start downloading it a second later... or even on that same day.

The time between updates is often more than a month, so that's inconclusive. I would suggest not manually checking again until a few days after you confirm (via Frija, Sammobile, or your carrier's website) that your carrier has released a new update for your specific phone model. Then you can see if it downloads automatically first.

What version your on now ?

I have an unlocked S22 Ultra that I use on Verizon, and it's always updated without me forcing anything. It just did an update yesterday. It lets me know when there's an update and asks if I want to wait or install immediately.
