S22+ No notification sound

-I upgraded from S10 to S22+ last week.
-I had Verizon salesperson transfer my data from old phone to new phone.
-Got home and noticed that there's no sound from email and text msgs notifications.
-Under Settings -> Sounds and Vibration -> Notification sound I get no sound when I audition the sound choices, just a vibration
-I updated Android to v12 and notification sounds worked...
-...but just for a while. Now I don't have the sounds again.
-I put phone in safe mode. Notification sounds work!
-Ended safe mode. Notification sounds don't work.

So does that mean that one of my 3rd party apps is the culprit and I'll have to remove them one by one until I find it?

Welcome to Android Central! It might. Do you have any 3rd party apps installed that have any control over sound?

Thanks for your response. I found the problem was my hearing aid app, Philips HearLink. I uninstalled it (didn't really need it anyway) and the notification sounds were restored. However, my email and msg apps seem to be inconsistent in sounding alerts which I'll look into more at a later time.

Ah, thanks for the followup! I've seen this issue crop up a couple of times before, but I always forget about hearing aids. I'll have to keep this in mind next time!
