Had an opportunity to get a skink to let me take a few pics while fishing. Usually these dudes are quick as lightning when people approach. Also caught a really fat and tall shellcracker(my AC namesake) and a bluegill with some nice purple, blue, and a dash of orange.

Tried refining my technique and using portrait orientation instead of landscape for some of these, and I'm very happy with the results. These big wolf spiders are very fascinating to me. Got one in the last shot that looked like it had a skull face.

Wow! It looks like he's wearing a coat.

I was hoping it would open up and reveal the yellow underneath, Google search shows this is a Clymene moth
Wow! It looks like he's wearing a coat.
I was hoping it would open its wings and reveal the yellow-orange hindwings these tiger moths possess according to Google, but it didn't. Still cool seeing that unique pattern on the forewings though.

This little baby toad let me hold her 🥹 😍. She's not even half as long as my index finger.

Aww, what an adorable little frog!
She made for an excellent test subject. I had been having detailing issues with recent pics and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. It was both operator error, and something got changed in settings. I adjusted that and changed my technique and now my images are having the clarity they did when it came out of the box.

Can you share the change in settings? I don't think my shots are as sharp as they used to be.

I think k it was the aspect ratio. And optimization settings. Somehow my aspect ration got knocked from the 4:3 and optimization got turned off completely. I set them back to where they were and it did a lot better. I had noticed in th thumbnails right after taking serial photos that it wasn't doing the optimization processing like it used to do, so I tweaked that and my pictures are now more like they were when I first got it. I was afraid my camera was failing, but it seems to be a settings thing according to my experience, yours, and that of others that is fortunately a simple fix.

Nice catch! 🪝 That's sure a scorching hot day. I'm glad you were able to go early and beat the heat.

Couple of nice bass yesterday and two little spring peeper/chorus frogs from earlier in the week. The small one is super young, as it still partially translucent.
