I can't be the only one noticing this. I haven't had a phone that gets hot like the S22 ultra does. When using the phone, hotspot to stream music the phone heats up. It's at 103° right now. Someone said the modem on this phone will heat up using hotspot and I have to say he is right. It was note 5 days last time I had heat issues like this.

I've restarted phone and still does it. Disappointing to say the least.

I was using it as a hotspot the other night but I didn't pay too much attention to the temps but it sure drained the battery fast. The phone that got most hot for me was the S7. Brand new out of the box walking out of the AT&T store the thing was nearly burning my hand!

Mine is heating up like crazy. Usually just having the camera app open or making notes with the SPen. The area around the camera is the worst 😬

I assume that's where the processor is located.

Yesterday I was streaming music to my tablet and I did some facebooking and checked Tapatalk out for 10-15 minutes and it heated right up. Nothing I haven't done with other phones with no heating.

Heating up to the point that you can truly feel it is not a good sign. I recommend returning it and also not leaving the phone charging overnight or in another room.

It doesn't heat up unless you're using it, like hotspot. Last night it got to 103° while downloading movies so I expected that. I just didn't expect it when light hotspot, facebooking and I guess I was on the phone talking also. My other phones didn't heat up doing that. Normally it runs in the eighties somewhere for temp.

I've put my Ultra through the paces, except for games. It's gotten warm but nowhere near what you're describing.

That's still concerning. At least it doesn't run hot all the time, but still.

No issues at all with heating here ...slightly when using Android Auto ...nothing out the norm

I don't use hotspots but the only time it will even get warm to the point I can notice a temperature change is if it's wirelessly charging, which is completey normal. During regular usage I can't even detect a temperature change. Even when the phone was new and it was installing 100+ apps and setting itself up, I could not feel a significant temperature change. I do have a thin case which will insulate it somewhat, but overall I am not noticing any heat aside from wireless charging.

This better not tun into a Note 7 situation again.. It shouldn't be heating up to the point you feel it. Something is wrong... Now I'm worried once I get mine

I thought I read that the S22U was supposed to have some new type of vapor chamber for cooling. I wouldn’t expect to hear reports of such warm temps. Is it the Exynos version or the SnapDragon version that are getting unusually warm…or is it both?

Mine is Verizon snapdragon

My AT&T arrives tomorrow. I do so hope that it’s great and I don’t have any issues.

That was a good find. I did the test on both S22 Ultra and fold 3. The fold 3 was a couple degrees cooler. Both phones were within range. Still don't know why streaming music on tablet thru hotspot, few minutes of Facebook, forum reading while on the phone heated it up to 103° which apparently is within range. My fold doesn't do that under same situation. Guess the S22 ultra has a tendency to run hotter, but within range.

Here are pictures of results. First S22, second is fold 3.
