On my S22 Ultra - Google Chrome & Play are constantly trying to update and failing. I've deleted cache, data and uninstalled updates and they keep coming back and trying to update and failing. This crap is getting old.

Anyone else have this problem? How can this be fixed?

Did you clear the cache/data of both the Play Store and Download Manager, or just the Play Store?

You mentioned "Play" -- which Google Play app is trying to update?

It's just says "Google Play" and it's constantly trying to update and never will.

I just disabled Chrome (can't uninstall it) just to stop it from always trying to update.

I have auto updates turned off.

I have that happen once in a while on my N20U. Frustrating stays there and keeps failing. I find i leave it alone and by later in day it's able to install.

If you haven't also cleared the app data (not just the cache) from the Play Store and the Download Manager, then try that as well.

Go to Settings>Apps, tap the sort button and turn the Show System Apps toggle on, select Download Manager, then Storage, then Clear Cache and Clear Data there.

Thank you for that.

The thing that keeps trying to update is "Google Play System Update" What in the world is this?
