I cannot find a Setting that may make a Password required to Power Off, as IS the case 90% of time.
Any ideas How to stop the requirement are appreciated.
Up-to-date software....

It’s a security feature - presumably - and may therefore be required by Find My Phone or other Device Administrators.

I think it is only required if you try to turn it off from the lock screen. If your phone is already unlocked, you don't need a password or biometrics to turn it off.

Thanks to you both. I think Off from Lock Screen is typical and I'll test that.
To prevent a finder from turning it off before I can Find My Phone was thought of, too.
