Hi all, want to buy from private seller here in Ireland second hand s23 ultra mint. But seller honestly claims that phone have some account by SE UK company which as he again claims wont affect it funcionality in future. He sent me video where all basic services including signing in google accounts etc are working no prob. Even resetting to factory setting no prob.

So the question is, is there some hidden problems that might appear in future if I get this phone??

PS. Not sure if I'm allowe to post seller video here with his comments.

Does the seller mean an account or 'branding'? If it's an account, factory-resetting the phone should wipe that out (and if the phone has Factory Reset Protection, aka Stolen Phone Prevention, the phone would not be able to be reset/re-activated without that account's credentials). If the seller means it's carrier branded, then as long as the phone is not SIM-locked, you should be able to use it on a different carrier. Some features may or may not be present on the phone, however, as carriers modify the original OS on most of their carrier-branded phones, but the 'basics' should, in theory, work.

The seller sent me a video where trying to explain it. As fa as I understood, this was a company fone and he added a NOTE to his selling add since he's got descent positive feedback and didnt want to spoil it with some misleading.
"THIS PHONE IS CONFIGURED BY: SE UK

“Samsung UK support state it is an enterprise device, and you cant get rid of.

Samsung being the adminstrator”
Whatever it means and will add video here, maybe would help as well.

Sounds like this is an Enterprise device and while it may let you reset and sign in with your own account, it will always be linked to that company and its policy. Just take a look at all the permissions where he shows you can't disable it; those are all the things that could potentially happen, remotely, should the policy enforce it.

I can't tell if this is safe or not, but it's definitely a risk as you're subject to some unknown entity's policy and admin rights.

There's a reason why you're still looking at buying this, and it's price. The reasons why you should not buy it are clear.
I'm Irish living in the UK. Apart from the S-Pen and the long support (which may not arrive for you, IDK) I would look at other great deals out there.

Maybe you had one or a similar model before. Unless it's incredibly cheap and you're willing to lose that money, or there's a guaranteed return offered through places like eBay, you know people here will advise against it.
Especially as you are understanding more about the restrictions it has.

Sure, of course the price, this fella was going to let it go for 400.He sounds like descent person and doesnt want to set up anybody with that fone. I told him better to sell it for parts and he removed listing. I'm a kinda Samsung fan for a while for their material ,assembly quality. s23 ultra has very nice display although still suffering with PWM flickering. My last work fone is s24 and I'm quite pleased with it,

Sorry I didn't catch up. "Things" occurred!
The seller sounds legit with a good history, but I think you did the right thing. £400 was a very good price for a S23U if it was in good or as new condition, but it's a lot of money to me to risk it.
Do you have CEX stores / Webuy. com in Ireland?

I hope you find something you enjoy. I had Samsung"s many years ago which I enjoyed, anf I miss the S Pen for typing especially as I'm still hopeless on an on screen keyboard.
I'm fond of Xiaomi phones for 4 years, having bought two in 2020. £400 would still buy you a great phone, either Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola or whatever.

Well, we have it CEX is a bunch with cosmic, unrealistic prices, I have no idea who buys their stuff. For instance s23U 256gb version here in mint condition is 900 euro

On contrast, here's the add from very reputable seller at Irish adverts boards. . Not sure if link works in the UK but its s23 ultra 512gb, brand new factory sealed, color of your choice, with 2 yr Samsung warranty, only 829 euro.
https://www.adverts.ie/samsung/sams...sealed-irish-stock-black-green-cream/35244576
So CEX is not an option at all. That fone was 400 euro not sterling in sterlin 350ish only. But despite it, I've passed it considering future risks
