Seems after this recent update my S24+ is having USB problems, it now picks and chooses which of my previous plugs and wires it works with and only intermittently works with my android auto. The phone also decided it had water in the port until it randomly cleared a week later. Never had a problem with these phones since the S3. All plugs and wires work perfectly on my old S10.

I cannot for the life in me get recovery mode to activate. I did it once but after probably 30 attempts it just powers on normally.

Tried with/without connection to mac usb-c, releasing power button when logo appears, releasing both buttons when logo appears, holding both continuosly.........

Pulling my hair out at this point. I'm wanting to clear usb partition again to try sort the android auto situation.

Any suggestions? The phone did it once but isn't playing ball any more

So sick of problems over these past 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance :)

So your saying, you holded volume up and power button at the same time wait for vibration let buttons go and should take you to recovery mode , also no need for any plug on the phone , to do this.

In the directions number 4 says to release both buttons but I usually hold both until the logo and then release only the power button. I hold the volume button until the recovery screen has loaded. In your brief, these are things that I tried, you did this in reverse, and I've never tried letting them both go at the same time. I've also never had to use the USB method but I've seen it mentioned a lot in the past year. I feel like it depends on the phone make and model and the reason for trying to reach recovery. I'm imagine you have looked all this up but here are those instructions any way.

To boot into recovery mode on a Samsung Galaxy S24, power off the device completely, then press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears. Once the logo appears, release the buttons, and the device should boot into recovery mode. [1, 2]
This video demonstrates how to boot into recovery mode on a Samsung Galaxy S24:
Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Power off the device: Ensure the phone is completely powered off. [1, 2]
  2. Connect to a computer (optional, but recommended for troubleshooting): Connect your S24 to a computer using a USB-C cable that supports data transfer. [3, 4]
  3. Enter Recovery Mode: Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously. [1, 2, 5]
  4. Release the buttons: Once the Samsung logo appears on the screen, release both the Volume Up and Power buttons. [1, 2]
  5. Navigate recovery mode: Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to navigate the recovery menu and the Power button to select options. [1, 2]
