S3 disconnecting and reconnecting from charger.

My dad has an S3 that has started constantly disconnecting and reconnecting when plugged into the charger. He just bought a new battery for it, believing that was the issue, but unfortunately it wasn't. We've also tried using different USB cables without any change.

Since his phone will not stop disconnecting and reconnecting, this means his phone won't actually charge.

What could be wrong with his phone?

probably the micro-usb port. Do you need to hold the cable a certain way so it charges? The pins just dont contact quite right.
If its the usb port I would buy a new phone because to replace the port you need to desolder it and solder a new one on the motherboard.

It's the plug wearing out. I think S3s were more prone to this because their prey also accommodated a special humidity plug.

A phone store near me says they will replace for 65. Check near you and see what they say.
