Hi, I use samsung galaxy s3. whenever i update an existing contact the old number remains in the contact display, even email address. the updated details is saved but the old details dont go away. is there any fix to this issue? and does anyone experience the same issue? or is it just me not doing something right..!thank you

Assuming that you're using the stock Contacts app, whenever you edit a contact, unless you replace an item it just stays there. If you want to get rid of existing information just press the minus sign next to that field.

Maybe your device is syncing the Contacts from different account like Google / Samsung / Gmail / Google / Facebook and so on..

its bizarre you know what i tried the minus button in the edit mode the unwanted numbers disappear but after saving and displaying the name all the numbers reappear. even selecting a number under a name shows all the numbers..old and new ones.

As brainvision suggested in the previous post, are you using anything like Facebook (or any other app that manages your contacts)? Look in Settings, under the Accounts heading - do you have only Google?
