S3 Mini - SM-V700 (Frustration beyond belief)

I have a new SM-V700 waiting to be used.
Story so far:

S3 Mini GT-I8190N w/ NFC & Android 4.1.2 (Need 4.3 to connect)
No update yet for S3 Mini to Android 4.3. Samsung unable to say when.
Flashed phone to CM10.2 to get Android 4.3 (No NFC)
Flashed phone to AOKP Mod with Android 4.4.4 (Still no NFC)
Find out NFC only available on stock Samsung OS.
Gear Manager missing from Samsung App
Download 3rd party Gear Manager (tried 3 actually) None work.

Feel like I have only 2 choices:
a) Wait until Samsung release 4.3 for S3 Mini or
b) Sell my Mini and spend another couple of hundred for a new phone. (Can't afford this option atm)

FFS . . . Come on Samsung!!! Look after your products!!

Any other options I haven't tried yet?

I have the Note 2 also an older phone now, but I've got it working with the SM-V700 using the DN4 ver 2.1 rom and tizen on the watch.
