The Galaxy S3 is less than a year old and the S4 is right around the corner. HTC, Sony and Samsung have announced their newest flagship phones, but are any of them worthy of an upgrade? The latest rumors are hot and heavy for a new Motorola flagship ("X-phone") or even a Nexus 4 refresh possibly coming to Verizon. Perhaps HTC will make a push for the One to appear in Big Red's stores?

What will make you swap your trustworthy GS3 for a newer handset??? Inquiring minds want to know!!! ;)

I'll probably get the Note II. One of our lines has an upgrade option starting tomorrow. The bigger screen, S-Pen and its features are among the things I like. My eyes also need the relief.
Was at Costco earlier this evening and was surprised to see a new display kiosk with three BlackBerry Z10s. One of them was fully functional, and knowing that I needed to "swipe up" to move around, it was actually quite easy and familiar process to navigate around. If I hadn't been pulled into the "big screen" world with the S3, the Z10 would be high up on my list.

I bought the note 2 for $37 a few months ago. Nothing wrong with the s3 just wanted a bigger screen

I'd love to move to a true nexus phone, but being with Verizon makes that tough. Realistically, I'm going to look at the next couple of Motorola phones, as I've always liked their build quality. Also, if Motorola starts putting out "google"-type phones, I'd be really excited.

I want the Note II too but I am not sure about only having 16GB of internal storage.

Where did you find it for $37?

It was at best buy, my price was due to a price matching error. Although, you could have gotten it for $50 after pm to sams club and $50 gc if you signed up for it

I have been hearing the rumors about the note 3 and the rumors about motorola X phone. I have always been a big fan of motorola phones for their antenna and build. I'm very curious to see how the google/motorola relationship will play out with their new phones. I will probably switch back to motorola due to the fact I still have another yr on my contract with the GS3 and we all know there will be another 100 phones that will come by then. Here's to wating!

If I had $1,300 just laying around doing nothing I'd buy both the S4 and HTC One to play around with. But since I don't, and there's just over a year on the contract, I'll enjoy the S3 and fiddle with alternate ROMs when I need a change.

I've had this thing for 7 months. Why would I be looking to buy something new?? Just upgrade your ROM and you're there.

I probably won't get anything for a good while. Last fall, I went from a bionic to an IPhone 5 to an S3 back in January. With it rommed and setup with WiFi tether on unlimited, I don't really have a need for another phone.

I've been too preoccupied saving for a house and building my jeep to really think about phones since this one does what it does so well.

I will probably get the next nexus, even if it means switching carriers.

As for right now I think I'm gonna stay where I'm at. I've still got my unlimited data. Running 4.2.2 Liquid Smooth v2.3 with KT747. Slightly OC'd to 1.7ghz and slightly UV'd. Runs like a scalded cat and the battery life is decent on the stock battery. It honestly does anything I need and more. I just can't see spending the money and upgrading for the latest and greatest, when this beast is more than I need.

My name is Jay and I am a flashaholic.

Agreed. And I have. The reason I ask is because I have an upgrade coming in May. While I love my S3 running CleanROM, I wouldn't mind having a quad-core CPU, 1080p screen and front facing speakers. (All hardware upgrades I can't get with my S3).

I'd like to get off the get a new phone just because I have an upgrade available wagon. I spend way too much money on gadgets I want but don't NEED. Get caught up in the hype and dive in. I still can't believe I paid full price for my S3 just because I couldn't control myself. You probably aren't gonna believe this but I speak the truth. When I do pop for a new phone I am seriously considering going back to BlackBerry and their new Z10.

You are already paying for the subsidy add part of your monthly plan. If you don't upgrade at subsidized pricing , Verizon is basically making easy money off of you. Imo, even if you don't want to use the upgrade, you can buy a high priced phone when it goes on sale and sell it to recuperate some of the subsidy that you are already paying
