G'day fellas,
Here's the newest conundrum arising from my 4.1.2 S3's onslaught of problems. Normally, my S3 w/ stock 2100mAh battery charges in around 3 hours(?10 mins) from 0-100%. Now, out of the blue, over a week ago, it started taking 5 hours to charge fully- from 0%! My phone is fully stock with no root, but Nova Launcher Free(I've had that for 6 months now, no issues).
The only significant change to my S3 was that I installed Asphalt 8 around the same time my phone started displaying tantrums.
Any help would be appreciated :D

Perhaps the battery is bad. Have you tried different cables/chargers?

Make sure that no services are running in the background when there shouldn't be. If all seems normal take a look at the battery. One non scientific method to check for a bad battery is to spin it on a table top (or other flat surface) and see if it continues to spin for a few seconds. This means the battery is swelling and should be replaced. If it doesn't, it's still good and likely not the cause for the issue. If that's the case you can factory reset and see if that helps.

Another easy check is to turn the phone off completely, then connect the charger. It should take no more than 2 hours to fully charge the phone (assuming that you're using a wall charger).

If it does, then you either have a problem with (in order of likelihood)
- the charger/cable
- the battery
- the phone (perhaps the micro-USB port; perhaps the charging circuit)
-- to narrow down these two you could try a wireless charging solution
