S4 Google Edition now showing contact circles on search page above keypad.

A new thing is happening on my phone.

On the Google search page there are now circles with the names of frequent contacts between trending searches and the keypad. The circles are various colors and if I touch one it states,"This is a contact on your device that matches what you are typing".

Someone else posted the same question on Reddit yesterday but it is unanswered. I can't find any other reference to this on the web so I'm wondering if it came with a new update.

That sounds more like adware that Google. Have you installed anything new? ES File Explorer maybe?

Nothing new installed that I recall. Had a few auto updates but that's it.

Ran Webroot and Malwarebytes. No issues.
