S4 hard resetting

So, I am new to android and was wondering if its common for the phones to keep resetting? It resets when I plug it in to charge, when I switch apps, when I try to do two things at once, when I am on phone calls. I called att so they can exchange it (hoping its a problem with just this phone). Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you got a bad phone/hardware problem. Just work it out with AT &T and get it replaced there is no excuse for having to deal with this on a new device like this.

replace it...both of my old atrix 4g units did this all the time and I believe that over time it degraded the (second) phone somewhat.

I replaced it and this one seems to be working as intended.
