S4 mini GT-19195 boot loop

Hi,

I'm struggling with an S4 mini that keeps trying to restart itself but won't get beyond boot loop.
A guy over at android forums has been really helpful, but we seem to have come to a dead end.

I can get into download and recovery mode, but not much else.
Odin successfully PASSed, but still no difference.
Kies can't/won't connect to the phone.
(haven't used these at same time: have read they 'don't get on')

Wiping data/cache results in:
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by_name/cache

Any ideas please?

It looks like the flash memory has failed or you have a corrupt partition. YOu could try flashing a pit file in Odin but I think it needs a technician to examine it [General] galaxy S4 mini I9190 I9192 I 9195 and variants , pit files

Thank you. Doesn't sound too good, but willing to have a go. How do I work out which one I need?

Does it have carrier's firmware on it. Where are you located? Did you buy from new?

Not sure. UK. No.

I use giffgaff which uses O2 network. Not sure whether it was locked or not. Bought used. Not rooted or anything.
Already 'Odin'd' it so unlikely to have any other firmware than that Odin has flashed (from Sammobile).

Hmm if the pit file is not the correct one it will definitely brick the device. A good repair shop can repair that with a jtag unless it's water damage which you said may be a possibility.
