S4 not switching from 3G to 4G

Hi everyone.

Have a Sprint S4 that is not switching fron 3g to 4g. Question is
it is a common issue or is my device.

Ps my company phone an old evo 4g do the switch in seconds.

Is the device switching to 4g at all? If so, how long would you say does it take to switch from 3g to 4g? By the way, welcome to the Forums!

I had this problem with AT&T and they had to remove the phone from their system and add it again. Everything worked fine after that.

If im driving most times goes through the 4g area and don't make the switch

Did you ensure your phone is set for LTE /CDMA under the network settings?

You also mentioned your old phone was an Evo 4G which ran on Sprint's old 4G network which is incompatible with the Sprint s4.

so you're saying that when I got 4G on the EVO I may not get 4G on th S4

There is a difference in 4g. Unlike other carriers Sprint has a 4g WIMAX network.. That is what your old EVO was connecting to. Your S4 can only connect to the 4g LTE Network.. Which may not be in your area yet.. Or really weak.

Yes sir, check Sprint's website or check sensorly(app) to see if your area has any Lte signal going on. You wont be able to get any 4G on your S4 if there is only 4Gwimax that your Old evo used to get.
