S4 won't recognize SIM from time to time

Hello. I just got a Galaxy S4 but during the day it sometimes happens that my device doesn't recognize my sim. If i take it out and put it in again it will register. Is this a software problem? I'm thinking that if it were a hardware related problem it wouldn't recognize it at all right? Waiting for suggestions. THX
