Android Central Question
I really need some help to breath life back into my phone which I am seriously concerned is totally bricked!
I spilled beer all over it and it sat in a puddle for a minute or two as I hadn't realised the beer was spilled straight away.
I dried the phone out, bowl of rice in airing cupboard. I charged it over night on fast charge.
When it turns on it goes to blue "installing system update" screen and then to the dreaded "no command" screen.
I have no issue getting into the Anroid Recovery menu BUT whilst in this menu I cannot select any of the options. I've tried every possible button combination, touch of the screen or anything you can possibly imagine.
The power button does work as the "power + volume down" simulated battery pull works fine. I know the up and down buttons are working and also the home button too as when I hold that for a second on the recovery menu it highlights the option green, but does not enter the relevant sub menu,
Every single answer I have found online simply refers to selecting one or other of the Android Recovery menu options, usually wipe cache partition, but I cannot do this as I cannot select anything from the menu.
I have tried entering safe mode by holding power and volume down, releasing power when the Samsung logo appears but holding the volume down button. This just continually restarts the phone, it wont go any further.
I also cannot completley power off the phone. It wont turn on without a charger connected and as soon as I connect a charger it turns on and continues to the same boot loop.
I have tried every possible variation of holding down home, volume up and power and got no different response.
I have downloaded the ADB command prompt software on my PC however this is useless as in it's present state the phone does not connect to the PC so the "adb devices" command shows nothing.
Can anyone suggest anything what so ever other than hitting it with a hammer?
