S6 No Longer Supported on Straighttalk?

My wife has a Galaxy S6 that was used on Straighttalk up until about 2 years ago. She tried to get it reconnected back to Straighttalk but was told the phone was no longer supported. The model number is SM-906L, hw version SM906L.01. Is it worth trying to unlock the phone and move it to a different carrier (not sure if it's actually locked).

Hi, the s6 is getting older and no more support , I would look into a newer device.

Welcome to Android Central! It probably has to do with the new requirement that the phone support VoLTE on the network. I'm guessing that phone doesn't. https://extras.straighttalk.com/en/survival-guide
