S6 suddenly stopped working with car bluetooth

Is anyone else having problems with the android not working with the hands free sync in their car?

I have a 2011 ford escape and up until a couple of weeks ago my Galaxy S6 was working fine with the bluetooth. Now if I try to make a call or receive a call it just makes this weird noise. I saw in some other forums I should turn off my ok Google settings but nothing is helping.

Any suggestions?

try a different phone just to rule out any issues with the car?
