S7 durability?

I've been going back and forth between the s7 and htc 10. I like that the s7 is waterproof but the glass back is making me nervous. Just how fragile is it? Is a good case going to keep the back from shattering? And if it would break, I assume the waterproofing is useless?

If you use a case then yes I wouldn't worry too much. Glass is fragile and it's going to crack if you are unlucky and the phone lands in the wrong angle. But with the case you should be fine.

I have an s7.. I applied a dbrand skin behind and use a diztronic case.. It's given me the peace of mind so far!
