S7 edge "black screen of death" returns after fixing last week + broken vol down key, what do I do?

Okay so, my 3 year old samsung s7 edge suddenly "died" last week. I looked everywhere for similar problems ans worked out a solution which was to go into a boot up mode which allowed me to clear the cache amd restart into factory settings and restore to when it was last working. Which worked fine. A few days ago I dropped my phone and broke the volume down key (what amazing luck I have) wouldnt have been a problem as I thought the black screen wouldnt return again but alas, last night I plugged my phone into charge and immediately after opened a messenger bubble and it crashed/shut down. As in the contractor logo appeared and it shut off but the notification light was still on. And so I have BSoD again. I am unable to get a new phone because of the contract (which enss in a few weeks yay but i really need my phone for the next too weeks :(( ) so I need a quick fix. I would really prefer not to reset my phone again but if it has to be done I will do it but my main problem now is getting into safe mode. I have removed the volume down key im not sure if I can use a needle or something to press in the hole where the original key would be pressing.
I have searched through everywhere please help

The "quick fix" might be more money than you want to spend. I suspect a cracked motherboard. You can buy a cheap phone, new, for less.

For your next phone, get an Otterbox Defender case. If Otterbox doesn't make a case for the phone you like, choose a different phone. You seem prone to dropping phones, so you need a case that can protect the phone from being dropped. I've had a phone in an Otterbox thrown at a wall, so a mere drop won't hurt it (I've dropped a few too).
