S7 Edge Pics Saving Potential Issue: some to micro SD and some to Device?!?

I discovered an odd issue:

some pictures are saved to the micro sd card, but, oddly, some are saved to the device!

considering how meager the device memory is, i don't want ANY pictures to be saved to my device! i need all the device's memory for apps and other required items!

one clue: only shots that MAY (i cannot be certain) use the camera's Auto HDR function are saved to the device itself. i know that because higher contrast pictures, immediately after you take the picture, has a pop up line on the screen: Burst Shots are Saved to the Device

i have no idea how to correct that or change that.

any advice would be most appreciated.

Burst shots are saved to the internal memory for speed. My g4 allowed saving bursts to sd card and there was major lag

My s5 was the same way. I'm guessing they did that for speed. Just be mindful of it and move them to your memory card. 32gb of memory is gonna require some constant attention

well, i'd rather, strictly a personal preference, i recognize that, all pictures would save to my card and it would not allow me to take the next picture until the pictures are properly saved. that's fine for me. i have so little internal memory left that i really don't want any of my Auto HDR pictures to be saved to my internal memory!!

is there a way to move internal memory pictures that are already saved to my micro sd card's memory? that would be a workaround!

thanks in advance.

PS: my question is now -

how would one ASK the camera to save even burst shots to the micro sd card then?

is there a way to make it do that? thanks.

Can't be done. The phone wants to write the pic as fast as possible so it uses the internal memory

Dualmonitors, what sort of SD card did you use? I'm hoping this would not happen with a fast card like a U3

I have a Samsung Pro UHS1 U3 card. Claimed 90MB read and 80MB write. Does same with my card. Phone claims HDR and other burst pics will save to internal memory. So, it seems like users will need to use the My Files app to manually copy those photos to SD card.

I suspect someone will develop an app that can automate this for us.

Something else annoying, Google Photos can read the photos on the SD card, but if I try to delete a SD stored photo I get a message saying I have to delete SD photos using the Gallery viewer.

Interesting. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I guess it's not the end of the world but surely annoying. Good case for getting rid of SD on phones

Err. No.

Even with higher-end MicroSD cards, the IO performance is still not as good as the internal UFS. It would be nice if Samsung gave us the option though.

You should be able to move files from internal memory to sd card with the my files app.

You can also use a third party camera app, and then that would be up to the app developer where to save it.

I was thinking of getting the fastest possible card at 64GB because they don't come with more storage right now. But, if I need to move content from internal memory to SD, I think it might make more sense to go for more storage and get a class10 U1 with 128 or 200. Anyone using one of those successfully?

What's the max read/write speed of the s7? I think it doesn't support U3...

That's a very good question. Been searching everywhere and can't find the answer to that.
