I honestly don't know if there's another post with this title BUT I did upgrade from the s7 to the v20. The story basically goes like this. I went to Verizon to get the new unlimited data plan and I was told that my s7 was halfway paid off so I can trade it in for an upgrade. My s7 battery life wasn't so great anymore so I decided to try out the v20 since I've had nothing but Samsung phones the past 4 years. Now I have the v20 and I absolutely love the battery life. I'm averaging 5 hours with a mixed usage that relied on LTE and wifi. Here are the screenshots.

So this was today's battery life. It's above my average but it's great.

Tl;Dr my v20 outlasts my s7 by a long shot.

Going from a Samsung to an LG is not an upgrade. But enjoy your new toy. You'll be back to Sammy soon.

I disliked the S7 and I really love my V20. I find it a great phone and DD definitely an upgrade. Depends on what you like as to what to find worth having.

I went from S7 Edge to LG V20, back to S7 Edge, then to Moto Z Force Droid, and now back to the LG V20.

I didnt really give the V20 a chance the first time, and Verizon takes away some features, and it was obviously expensive.

However when T-Mobile had that $360 deal I jumped back on the V20 and I love it so far

That maybe your opinion but in mine, the only real downgrade from the s7 to the V20 is the cameras auto mode. Everything else is an upgrade. I mean you got nougat out of the box, same processor but better utilized, stock software that isn't laggy, and sturdier body. I mean sure the s7 has received the update for nougat but still doesn't change the fact that touchwiz is being used stock. Haven't used a s7 on nougat but it's most likely still slower overall than the V20. But this is just MHO.

I had the Samsung S7 Active variant (4000 mAh battery) and surprisingly the V20 outperforms the screen on time on that. (I got 5.5 hours SOT on the S7 Active, 6 hours SOT on the V20, and the V20 has a smaller battery). It's a huge upgrade as well.

I can now readily confirm I get much better battery life daily on my v20 than my s7. I don't get why.

Besides the longer battery SOT life on the V20, the charge time via USB-C is most amazing. In an hour, I can go from 40% to 90%. It doesn't have wireless charging but I don't care. The fast charger is fast and easy. When I drive, I rarely charge my phone too. The best part is that if I forget to charge it over night, it is basically at the same % in the morning.

Bigger is not always better. It's a shame that general populace seems to consider a larger battery as necessarily superior to a smaller one. The real benchmark to consider should be power efficiency.

While it's a step in the right direction, the so called (Qi) wireless charging is just a play on words in it's current state. You still have to establish semi-contact with a pad for the inductive electrical power transfer to occur. There are much better (more efficient) resonant systems in the works that promise to deliver Power over Wi-Fi zones.

I agree...right now the average consumer you would be much better served using the quick charge 3.0 with USB-C.

Which is why I like being able to just swap out the battery!
