S8 Audio resuming after opening another app

Just moved over from IOS to Android and having a slight quirk when using audio. So on my IOS device i'd be playing a podcast for example, listening whilst browsing Facebook and as i'd open a video the video audio would take over. Once i'd closed the video it would resume the podcast

Doing this on my new S8 when i do this the audio of the podcast stops and i have to either pull down the notification tab or go into the app and start it again/

There's a fair chance this could just be how it works but i wanted to check in case i'm missing something obvious.

What application are you using to listen to these videos and podcasts. I can likely help since i have two s8s (one +) right here

Its happened on both BBC Iplayer Radio and on Castbox. Happily listening away, browsing facebook and as soon as i open a video to watch it, the playback on the other apps stop and i have to restart it once i've finished the video rather than it resuming.
