Hello , i want to know if the edge light works when you get notification from Facebook and messenger or Gmail or during Alarm because mine doesn't and i fear that it might be defective .... Thank You
I haven't tried it for Facebook, but it doesn't work with all apps. I do have it working for a calendar notification app I have. I looked in Settings and Facebook Messenger doesn't even appear as an app you can turn Edge Lighting on for. I also don't see it for Clock/Alarm as an option to select on mine.
You have to turn it on for the apps it could work with and if it isn't in the list, the assumption is it isn't compatible with that app's notifications.
To view which apps you can turn it on for, go to Settings, Display, Edge Screen, click on the words "Edge Lighting", which will take you to another screen. Ensure it is set to Always. Underneath that you will see Manage Notifications. Click on that and it will pull up the full list of apps which you can then toggle On/Off.
You know I've never even seen mine work. I just saw this post and it made me think about it. I'm going into settings now to check and see if mine is even turned on. I don't think it is bc I've not once ever noticed it to light up. Plus I don't use the edge functions anyway so I have never paid much attention to it. Good post. Thanks for the alert.
Make sure it's enabled for all apps. By default it may only set for messaging app.
It doesn't work for me on most apps, but they work for my Facebook (not the Messenger), default Samsung Messages app, and Snapchat for me.
