Sprint Galaxy S8 S8+ not receiving text from iPhones

Bought the S8+, turned off iMessage on my iPhone 7 plus before the S8+ was activated but I'm not receiving text from iPhone's, anyone have the same issue?

It's been a few years since I switched from my iPhone but I think you need to turn off iMessage in your iPhone before you switch to Android

I'd also use the de-registration tool on the apple site to make sure your number is out of the system. You should also check to see if your email address was being used as someone may be sending iMessages to that instead of your mobile number.

Both iMessage and FaceTime have to be turned off to complete the process. Also, you can deactivate it by your phone number, at this page:

FaceTime might be the culprit because I had turned off iMessage before the S8+ was activated.

I will be changing from iPhone to Samsung, what should I do to ensure i don't have issues?

Turn off imessage AND FaceTime and after u activate the s8 I'd use Apple's deregistration tool. That's what I did and haven't had any issues receiving texts from iPhones.

Did all this and still can't receive text from iPhones.

The people that are trying to text you need to go into their iPhone settings and under messages make sure that send as sms is turned on. This should send as an sms instead of iMessage.

Never had to do that with any android before.

So I'm having a similar yet unique problem. My daughter had an ipod touch with imessage and no phone number associated with it. I bought her an S8 but she cannot text or receive texts from people with iPhones.
I've changed email address on the Apple ID with out any luck. Any suggestions?

I'm able to get iMessages from my wife's iPhone, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know how to implement any of the suggestions that people here have made...no one tell her I said that please.

I do have issues once in awhile though with the messages getting delayed, sometimes for hours. It's uncommon, but not "rare" per se. I'd say that this happens to one out of every hundred messages or so.

Get onto a computer sign onto your Apple account and delete your old phone then everything set will work

May also have the person with the iPhone delete the conversation, then start a new one.
