Android Central Question

In the display settings, under "full screen apps", it lists one of my favorite apps that is "optimized to run in full screen mode". It is greyed out so that I cannot toggle it to not run in full screen mode. The problem this causes is that much of the sides of this particular game get cut off because it's running in full screen. Before this app updated today, it was not a problem. Is there a way that I can get it out of full screen mode? The app in particular that this is happening to is Clash Royale...

I am facing the same problem on my S8 in Clash Royale. How to remove the app from full screen Guys.

Make sure you have Game Tools, should be part of the navigation bar when you're in a game/ app.. It's located in the bottom left corner of the screen ( looks circular with a gameboy style control ). Click on that, and you should see a switch that says "full screen", switch it off or on based on your preference.. I usually have it off, but some games/ apps look a lot better with them on.

I have the same issue with the Yi home camera app, which is othewise great. Why doesn't the Android OS allow us to switch off full screen mode on supposedly optimized apps? Frustrating…

There's a toggle for that already. Android would not do this, the manufacturer would.
