S8 phone isues

I did a search to see if there were any recent posts and couldn't find anything. I recently got an unlocked S8 and have a few questions/issues. The first is regarding incoming calls. Yesterday and today I got a call while the phone was asleep - I heard the ringtone fine but when I tried to answer the call volume was very low even though it was set almost to max and the speaker was active. I told the caller I would call back and when I connected the volume was fine. I am wondering if there is a setting I am missing. Also, is there a way to get a different dialer? I looked in Settings/Apps and went to Contacts ( which is apparently the default dialer) and there is no way to disable it. If I can't disable it then how can I get another one? I had been using True Phone on another phone and liked it. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

after you install the new dialer app you can set it as default without disabling the old one

Ok thanks, I think I have it now. What threw me a bit was when going to Settings/Apps/True Phone it would show the Calling App as True Phone but right above where it says Set as Default, it says None set as default.
