S8+ survived face down drop on concrete.

Accidentally let my s8+ drop from my pocket, waste height while sitting. It hit face down on rough sidewalk concrete. Not even a scratch. A little surprised since I've seen many people say it scratches easy, and breaks even easier.

Gorilla Glass 5 is a beast. Don't believe the scratch easily hype. I thought my phone had fine scratches, until I polished them right out.

I'm not buying anyone else's scratch sob stories lol

When you dropped it did it have a case on. Mine did a wast highbdrop to concrete a few weeks back and no issues -had a case on though. Also dropped onto street while walking dogs a few weeks ago-it actually bounced and landed pretty hard. Had a case on-no phone damage just a few small knocks on the one case. My screen I noticed does now have a slight scratch barley noticeable but that's probably from my heavy usage and sometimes putting it in my bag etc.

Ditto. Other threads suggest that you can ruin the coating by "polishing"...

A simple cloth and Monster glass cleaner works for me. Spray your phone down and then gently clean your screen in a circular motion.

Yes, it doesn't effect the coating.

Same exact thing happened to my phone. Landed face down on concrete and nothing! My heart was in my throat when it fell but I really lucked out. Not even a scratch. I did have a case on my phone but no screen protector.
