Hi all, I am tempted by the pixel 3 (NOT the Xl). I have been an s8 user since leaving the iPhone a few years back (when I saw the leaks for the notched abomination that is the x). I really like the s8 and wondered if an s10 would be the better bet. The things I love are the always on display, the screen quality, the speed (there is NO lag!), email groups, playing games (clash royale and rise of civilisation) and the usual communication stuff (relentless what’sapp, emails and the odd messenger).

What I don’t like so much about Samsung is not even the slow updates, I could cope with that, it is the inconsistent updates. I may get them month by month, great, I’m currently three months without one and my wife’s note8 has had a few. That seems disorganised and it’s fairly frustrating. I would rather a commitment to every 2 months than just when they see fit. So naturally this is a big appeal with the pixel.

The biggest appeals are the camera, though I am not a massive photo taker it still seems awesome. My biggest concern is that tiny battery, how would it hold up day to day especially if I play a game? I’m also slightly concerned about the chip it’s an 845 and we all know the next big step up is only a few months away. Is it obselete flagship wise before its even hit the shop floor?

I was looking at the same thing as I've been an S8 owner for the past year or so. I decided to purchase two of the pixel 3s NOT the XL since Verizon was offering a two for one deal. I really enjoy most of the S8 except for the Bluetooth, it's the worst of any phone I've ever had. I realized that allot of what I enjoy about the S8 are things that Excel in the pixel phone.. Photos, screen, always on display (Motorola still does this best) so I'm currently waiting for my two pixel to arrive. I think the pluses outweigh the negatives.

I'm also on the S8 and was looking forward to the V40 or OnePlus 6T this fall. However, I've seen nothing that makes me want to leave my S8. I am waiting on the S10 myself.

Google has better service and we haven't really seen the camera results which should actually be better than the current Pixel 2 camera
