On S8 is their any way to record a video and use a BT headset as a mic for sound for the video being recorded on device?

You kidding me, I can't even find where the stock wallpapers are hidden. :-\

Maybe someone will have the answer for you.

I want to do a video and record off BT mic. I'm sure their is a camera app in store but... Which lol

Doesn't look like it, my guess is for videos the hardware does most of the work, including recording, syncing, and MUXing of the audio and video streams before handing it off to the app, with a plugin capability for video effects. Also a proper bluetooth mic would use the a2dp profile, headsets use a low quality HSP/HFP profile.

Everyone I know who seeks to improve audio recording when doing videos simply uses a stand alone mic recorder and syncs up the audio in post. This also means you can set volume levels for commentary vs background.

Wonder about this...?

"Audio source - Select the audio source for recording video. The effect of this depends on your device - if it supports an external microphone, you may be able to use this by selecting "External mic". The other options may provide different settings affecting the resultant audio (e.g., automatic gain control), though this behaviour is device specific."

Looks like its for android devices that have things like a microphone jack on them.

Due to the vagueness of the description, my guess is the guy built in a pull down menu for the android sound mixer and is simply letting the android sound mixer allow "what ever". In most cell phone generic cases this would yield nothing special, but if it was a non-cell phone android device that included external audio inputs then they would be accessible here.

For the sake of it later I'll have to try it for fun. Pretty sure your right though, unfortunately 😟
